1. Envy Update
I admired the design of the original Envy 100 but held off on buying one. I just went ahead with the updated 110 model this past weekend.

The printer was a breeze to set up. My PC established an ad hoc wi-fi network with it and securely transmitted at my primary home network's info securely to the printer itself and then switched both back to my regular wi-fi network (802.11g with WPA2). After that completed, the printer "just worked" without requiring any configuration on the printer itself.

Printing from my laptop or from my iPhone works perfectly. Earlier reviews had talked about the tray and panel not closing properly - that all seems to be working fine for me. The printer is almost silent in its operation. It's so sleek and stylish that it looks perfectly in place sitting on an side table in my living room.

2. Quiet All-in-One
Picked one of these printers up because I wanted a printer in my family room, where I do most of my computer work.

Most of what I looked at seemed to be a few metal parts and lots of cheap plastic. When I picked up the HP Envy printer, I immediately felt the difference. Heavy and solid construction.

The looks of the printer are unlike any other I have seen. It looks more like a DVD player than a printer. It fits into my living area, while other printers looked like office equipment - not what I wanted in my family room.

Unboxing the unit showed that the packaging was high quality and the printer had it's own bag keeping it safe from scratches. Hookup consisted of plugging in the electric cable and turning the printer on.

From there, the printer guided me through the setup, including telling me when to insert the ink cartridges and how to set up the wireless connection.

The only thing I needed to have was my network security...

Really impressed with how simple it was to setup and how cool it looks
I wanted Airprint, but considering I own Canon DSLR's I thought I'd go with 1 of the 3 new Canon printers that support Airprint. Walked into Staples because the prices were inline with Amazon. I saw the Envy 110 and it reminds me of a Maranz component A/V Amp more than a printer. It's a bronze color with a nice color screen in front. I had to turn it upside down to find the paper tray, and even then couldn't figure out where the paper was coming from. While the canons were the same price at Staples as Amazon, this was $20 more ($199) but I pulled the trigger. Got it home, plugged it in and it was working in 10 minutes. My Ipad's and Iphones automatically saw the printer, my Windows 7 found it as well with a "Find Printer" function in control panel, but don't be lazy like me and make sure you run the install disk first, unless your technically competent and are able to fix the drivers.

ePrint was up and running in a few minutes, and it's really amazing, already...

1. Very good but not quite five star material
I've configured and setup Canon, Epson, and HP printers over the years but this is my first Brother model. With USB and network connectivity being more common in the past few years, there's really not much initial setup difference between brands.

I took the unit out of the box and began removing umpteen pieces of strapping tape and figured out how to install the initial starter (3,000 pages) cartridge and paper trays. (Two different high yield cartridges are available for purchase as well.) Took me a little while to figure how to fit everything in, but the instructions were clear. Powered the unit up and programmed it via touchscreen to connect to my wifi. Unfortunately, it does not support 5GHz 802.11n networks so I joined it with my 2.4GHz network, and after figuring out a few acronyms, got it to print. My Macs running Mountain Lion (10.8) had no problem seeing the printer via Bonjour and drivers were installed automatically.

I did not refer to the user guide...

2. Simply Awesome.......and I'm a geek!
Over the past few years I've spent well over $10,000 on Amazon. Just call me an amazon junkie! However, I think I've probably written only one review during that time. I'm grateful for those that do write reviews and I read many, many reviews as I research my purchases. Having said that, this printer is so freaking awesome I can't resist letting the rest of my junkie friends know how wonderful it is.

I am a geek. I have used Dell, Apple, Epson, Brother, HP, Samsung, Ricoh, Canon, etc. printers. I have set them up, used them, abused them, and loved many. This Brother MFC8950DW is replacing a HP Color Laserjet 2840. There is absolutely no comparison between the two. Although I should point out the HP was a color laser multi-function printer. I bought a $150 epson multi-function to take care of my color needs and I bought this Brother printer to take care of the high-volume daily needs for B&W laser printing, faxing, copying, scanning, etc.

Lightweight drivers and nice screen. Good network printing
We have only just setup this printer, but have used other older models that are similar. It was a snap with windows XP and windows 7 PC's. We don't have windows server in our little environment.

As we expected the brother network setup software installed quickly and easily on windows xp and 7. The drivers are lightweight, especially as compared to what comes with HP printers - that stuff won't fit on a CDROM, so they have to package it on DVD. We use wired networking and that setup was trivially easy. It just DHCP'd (automatic IP assignment) and that's that.

One of the very nice things about the driver install it is registers your PC on the multifunction so you can scan to your computer from the unit. No relay race to place paper and run to your PC to start the scan. Nice! The scanning quality and paper handling is also quite good. Even though the printer is monochrome, the scanning is full color. 1. Good all-in-one, bad company ink tactics
This printer is a few steps up form my Workforce 635 which I've reviewed in March of 2011. The front interface and buttons are the same layout which is grouped in sections (Fax, Copy, Scan) and has its own set of buttons accordingly. While in theory its easy, seeing all the buttons covering the front is a bit confusing but you'll get used to it. One big main start and stop button is plenty, not one for each group. I got the 635 in only March and now its November and Epson has replaced this model already. It seems every 6 months is a new release which is just too soon.

This model is basically the same as the earlier 635 with a different set of inks, its #'s 127 but you CAN use the normal capacity of 126 from what i'm now finding out. But the different # inks ave very confusing because the packaging some say Ultra High Capacity and others say Extra capacity even in the same # code. The replacement inks for CMY are $41 and Black is $19, which is about $60 bucks comparing it...

2. An all-in-one with an array of extras
The Epson Workforce 645 is a wireless, all-in-one printer that is perfect for home or for a very small office. It is similar in size and appearance to the Epson WorkForce 840, which I also own, but has only one paper tray, more tools for printing and editing photos and the front LCD panel is not touch screen. (I find I actually prefer the non-touch screen on this printer. The buttons make it quicker to perform each task.)

This is not a small printer, but it is not excessively large. It measures 17"W x 14 1/2"D x 9"H when closed, however you will need additional space in front and behind the printer to load the paper tray and to clear paper jams. It is a combination of high gloss, matte, and textured black plastic and feels acceptably solid.

Upon opening this printer, you will find a lot of protective plastic and packing tape. Go over it carefully and remove it all before installing and using the printer. There is a driver and software CD, a set up sheet which...

Nice, not great.
I resisted buying an all-in-one inkjet, concerned it just meant more things to go wrong in an already complicated piece of technology, and spent years getting by with copier and fax freeware. After trying this Epson Workforce printer, I have to admit I've been living wrong. Things I like are that the footprint is no larger than my old HP printer, alone. The copier and fax functions are fast, have automatic two-sided and multiple-page feed and in color mode the copier function renders colors accurately. The text quality is very high and the print speed quite good. Though it is feature-rich, I do have some reservations. The controls, which use a mix of touch-screen and keypad inputs, are not quite as simple as a completely touch-screen driven unit. There is no simple way to print envelopes--you have to pull out the paper tray, remove the paper supply, consult the manual for the proper orientation, insert one envelope at a time and re-insert the paper tray. 1. Terrible printer
Do not buy this printer. I read other reviews online that indicated there were problems with a phantom "jam in tray 2" error message but I didn't worry about it since I have never had any problems with HP printers in the past. How wrong I was. The printer worked fine for 2 weeks and then I started getting the same errors. I have spent days (not hours) on the phone and chatting online with technical support and they cannot fix the problem. Not only that - no one is in the US! For this printer, support is in Costa Rica - I find it very difficult to understand them. To discuss problem resolution - it's the Phillipines. The only ones in the US are the sales people. I'm now printing using Tray 1 and manually feeding in the paper. I'm going to try to return the printer and will start over. Save yourself the grief and buy something else.

2. HP LaserJet 3015DN
Setup is failrly strait forward. The printer is excellent quality. The secret to the HP printrs is before adding to the network, alwaya...always download the latest driver library and update the firmware with the latest firmware available. This really solved the paper jams from the high speed printing. This one has a quite mode that is very highly appreciated from the office workers and the speed to print is 7.5-8 sec which is also a nice feature. The big plus is that this printer is based on current medium frame HP printer chassis which are quite robust. This is in the mid to lower side for the medium business and works great for a 5-10 person office. The print speed is quite impressive and will hold an entire ream of paper. Testing it, I printed several small book size print jobs and finished much faster that expected. Excelent Printer
I have bought 2 of these printers for my company and am getting ready to buy a third. I have had no problems with these printers in the last 8 months. They are quick, easy to set up on the network (Active Director with mostly Windows 7 x64 clients). I can't find fault with this printer. I highly recomend it.

1. Fantastic replacement for SOHO laser
I replaced an older HP color laser that had gotten flakey. While initialization takes a while to complete the printer is very fast, very quiet and has excellent output. I did not get wireless as my printer is plugged into my network backbone. My Lantronics XPrintServe immediately recognized the printer and it was available to all my iOS devices. Highly recommended. Also flawlessly used by 4 Macs in the house running Lion and Mountain Lion.

A breeze to setup. Clear crisp printing. Duplexing and wireless are fantastic. A great replacement for my Samsung ML-1710. Supports AirPrint.

2. I LOVE this printer!
I love being able to print directly from my Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone thru my wireless network! Also prints from any other computer or tablet on my network, all wirelessly. Printer also looks good (I keep it on a corner of my kitchen counter for easy access, it's just plugged into the a/c outlet like any other kitchen appliance)!

Only con with this printer is that the wireless setup was a MAJOR pain in the ass! I had to call Samsung's tech support, and allowed the level 2 tech support to log onto my computer (I was able to monitor the entire process on my screen) and finally had to plug the printer and laptop into my wireless router before tech support was able to get it working. I believe the issue/problem was that the printer ships with something called "wifi direct" enabled, and this meant that the printer was trying to act as it's own wireless access point or some other gobledegook, and once the tech support logged into the printer's wireless setup and disabled...

After 4 years, my photosmart 4200 decided it no longer wanted to accept its cartridges, I decided to simply buy a new printer.

The envy simply stands apart from most printers as it simply feels more solidly well built, it's much heavier than most but probably more than it needs to be - the thing IS heavy, perhaps that's why it's ultra quiet when printing.

The set up is easy if you plan to use a cable. If you plan to use it wirelessly - beware, the set up may be a bit more cumbersome. My windows computer could not recognize/discover the printer's IP address, it took me an hour with tech support to successfully set up.

THE REASON I TOOK IT BACK: If, like me, you use your printer for work related documents, beware - THIS PRINTER CANNOT PRINT ON LEGAL SIZED PAPER. Like Apple, HP has sacrificed the practical for the aesthetic. I understand what the designers wanted to do, by hiding the tray and paper under the machine, hence making it a wonderful looking...

Great Wireless Printer!
I already have one of these and we have used it for about 6 months and loved it so much, I just bought another. It takes up very little space and does what we need it to do. It is not a really high volume printer, so if you want one of those, this is not the right one for you. I wanted a wireless printer that I could print from for any of our devices: ipads, macbook pros, imacs, airbooks. I was hesitant to purchase a Canon after reading reviews of similar products. Saw this at Costco as the previous reviewer, and I am very pleased with the purchase. Set up was 30 to 45 minutes - out of box, scanned for network, laptop, and fax , inserted ink cartridges. Found inserting the ink to be the most difficult task, but honestly it was because I failed to look at the ink guides before inserting them. I put the larger black cartridge in the wrong place, again, my fault. The set up guide is clear enough. Pages print quickly after spooling. My documents are crisp and I have used several types of plain paper. Color printing was clear, true to pc/laptop screen. The color copies were not as sharp as I would like, but clear. I like that I can close the lid on a standard sized paperback textbook (225 pages). I have only had it for a week, its my new toy/workhorse!

2. Canon 712 multifunction printer
In my experience, printers, the complex plastic mechanical devices they are, are not probably going to last me more than three or four years. That being said, I am extremely pleased with my new Canon 712, and will enjoy it while it lasts.

The HP 8600 Pro Plus was highly rated by Consumer Reports, and so I picked one up at Costco. After spending two hours trying to set it up on my Windows XP, I called tech support, who spent two hours trying to do the same. They concluded that the printer was defective. Perhaps the software is simply not compatible with XP?

Taking the HP back for a full refund, I decided to stick with Canon, the brand I've had for the past eight or so years. I've had the Pixma MX 830, the 860, and the 860, and was pleased with them as long as they were functional. The 712 is a new model, having just come out in May 2012.

Great Printer for the Price
Got this at Costco for about $117.00 tax included (Was $129.00 but they were running a $20 Instant Rebate). In my opinion a little bigger than I'd like for a home / home office printer. Setup was pretty straight forward if you have any experience with stuff like this. It took me about 20 minutes to unbox, setup, and connect to my wireless network. Worked right off the bat with no issues. I also like that you don't have to have a USB connection if you have a wireless network. One less cable sticking out of something. I am using it with my Mac, PC, iPad and iPhone and it see's them all with no problems. I really love the air print feature with "i" devices. Nice to print iPad emails without having to get up from my chair or forward to another computer. So far has worked flawlessly. I can't comment on ink usage but there is no way it can be any worse than my old HP printer which was an ink hog. All in all, for the price it is pretty hard to beat.

I have a 20 year old LJ III, always just worked, File/Print and the pages came. Still works today.

Bought an Epson R1800 for color and bought nothing but problems, drinks ink, test pages every few days, 50/50 chance the page would even be useful, then one day the ink stopped flowing mid-print and nothing but white paper since. Cost to fix was hundreds of dollars. Life cycle cost per print probably ended up in the tens of dollars. File/Print and pray, every time. Epson? Never, ever, again.

So, back to HP and their new CP4525. Why not, buy a set of toner and HP will give you the little brother CP4520 is just about for free. A few dollars more and you get the faster CP4525 engine. Cost per page is built into the toner alone. Buy 2, just to get a second set of toner cartridges AND end up with a spare printer (Fuser alone costs $250). Soon enough you'll likely be able to dump compatible toner into those carts. Also, no need to worry about "chips", the diagnostic menu...

1. Great for the price
Having grown tired of finding my 2 inkjet printers dead because of dried up ink, I bought one of these from the HPStore.com for the same $239 it is a Amazon today. I received it yesterday and so far so good.

Wireless setup requires connection with a USB cable. The wireless on the printer picks up twice as many neighboring access points as my Thinkpad, so it's pretty sensitive. It's a little noisy when printing or calibrating and not particularly speedy. I'm sharing it for home use with my wife - our "small workgroup". The print quality is excellent and what little graphics I've done look good. The starter cartridges say they're good for "> 600 pages", but the predicted page count will self-adjust depending on your usage patterns.

Four replacement toner cartridges cost more than the printer does, but even if you throw it away after the starter toner runs out, it still works out to about 40 cents per page, which is in the ballpark for supplies for some other color...

2. Simply amazing
I'm an IT consultant with 23 years of experience, 6 years on the Mac and Microsoft and Apple certified. My ~10 year old Epson inkjet finally had enough so I went to hp.com to find a highly rated color laser. Wasn't even looking for ePrint, though I knew it was recently released and would be great for the future and my iOS devices.

After coming across this new model, I was pleasantly surprised at the price of $239 ($60/20% off list). Online reviews were mixed as usual - I paid no attention to the negative reviews, warnings about using it with a Mac or that ePrint doesn't work yet - as they say, "your mileage may vary". Very Impressed
When Office Max had it for $240 Thanksgiving weekend, I just had to replace my 9 year old HP 1200 monochrome laser printer. The old HP ran like a champ, but I could not pass up the chance to move to color.

Setup was a breeze over my ethernet using my old Mac running Leopard. I rated the documentation as good, as I only used the quick set up guide and did not dig into the details, but the manual looks comprehensive. I did (and suggest) to skip the enclosed driver CD and go right to HP.com and get the latest drivers and firmware. This made the printer work with Apple's new airprint. I can print from my iPad and iPhone via my home wireless network. I didn't even have to set up the wireless printing on the printer. This is fine because my home network has a greater range in the house than the printer.

Print quality is great: "dang near photo" quality. I would still send my 4x6 prints to Walgreens to be printed on nice glossy paper.

Update #2 - Almost nine months after my original review and Epson STILL hasn't released the ICC profile for their Ultra Premium Luster paper. If you are using anything other than their Ultra Premium line you really aren't getting your money's worth on this printer. And as a photographer I can't give my clients work printed on glossy! Unfortunately, Epson doesn't seem to even have a timeline for giving their consumers proper ICC profiles. I just cannot understand why they have profiles for every other paper besides their most popular?

Update - I am adding a few stars onto my original review for a couple of reasons. One, because Epson customer service is actually one of the better customer service experiences I've had to deal with. They are very quick and courteous with their responses. And two, because after a month the banding problem I was having has randomly fixed itself. This printer gives extremely high quality print-outs on photo paper when using high resolution images. The print time is somewhat lengthy though the outcome is worth the effort. There is a minimalist approach to unboxing and use, for there are very few steps to get the Epson working. It is fairly quick to set-up wirelessly through the included software. There are no negatives that stick out, except maybe subjectively, to claim there are lacking points or better options. First one I got was DOA but EPSON replaced fast, prints are awesome
I've already read two OTHER reviews of this printer that had the exact same problem out of the box: namely, the paper jam signal is blinking (indicating a paper jam - duh) and will not clear no matter what you do. The EPSON support was timely (I had to wait 5 minutes on a weeknight for tech support) and some of the best I've had. In the end, they determined the bogus paper jam light was unsolveable and they had to send me a replacement. I received it by FEDEX 2 days later. They also let me keep the original printer's ink cartridges and sent me 6 new ones, so I was able to do some "free" testing as to ink capacity (see below). With the replacement printer I had ZERO problems with easy setup; no horizontal striping on the prints; all colors solid and vibrant.

Good office printer. Does not allow non-HP catridges.
Bought this printer for office daily printing needs. It works great and we have no problem with it, easy setup, no issue. This printer absolutely does not allow any non-HP cartridges, you must and can only use HP brand cartridges, which do not last long.

Couple months ago, I moved this printer from office to home office, unable to reconnect, until I did a new setup, then it worked right away.

I just went out and picked up this new laser printer. I have been printing 2-3 sheets every day for the last week from my desktop PC, and it has worked fine. I imagine that we will be printing work reports or term papers from school, so it will get a good workout over time. The results were different as I added wireless devices. I list the problem I encountered and a solution. Hopefully, I can save others the time of having to return the printer, calling tech support, or searching for answers.

I connected the printer to my network using Cat5 cable. It is just over 2 feet from my Netgear MR814 802.11b router and my desktop PC, so a wired connection made sense to me. I also set up a wireless connection from my laptop (and visiting family's laptops), so that we could print from around the house.

The initial laptop setup went fine. However, I later noticed that my print jobs stopped going to the printer. The same happened on the other laptops my relatives brought...

2. Terrific printer and a terrific value
Received and hooked up my ML-2955ND printer today. I did not know what to expect since the price of the whole thing is less than what I am used to paying for just a toner cartridge. My first impressions are quite positive.

I connected the printer via an Ethernet (cat-5) cable to my router, thus making it into a network printer. My machines are running Linux Ubuntu 12.04. The CUPS setup did not find a good driver for this model. So I went to Samsung's site and downloaded their UnifiedLinuxDriver_0.92.tar.gz which I unpacked, then executed its install.sh script. This brings up a GUI installation dialog box and takes you through the steps of the installation process. This needs to be done as root because it puts the requisite software in /opt. Additionally, it renames the old /usr/bin/lpr to /usr/bin/lpr.orig, then makes a symlink from /usr/bin/lpr to the new /opt/Samsung/mfp/bin/slpr.

GREAT little printer!
I'm just amazed at how cheap laser printers are now. And they're so GOOD. This is an EXCELLENT laser printer. Here's why:
1) Price. It's under 100 bucks. I think it's actually under 80, right?
2) SMALL FOOTPRINT! YES! Finally a laser printer that doesn't need to be the size of an ottoman!!!
3) SIMPLE FUNCTIONS. No endless sea of buttons on the panel. No complicated design. Just plug it in and PRINT (Well, just about).
Do you want to know what bugs me, and this is almost worth taking it down a star but ALL printers do this:
1) NO printer cable! You get this home, all excited to try it out but - uh oh - NO printer cable! What would it cost to throw in a 3 foot USB printer cable? Do you know how cheap cables are? They are the #1 source of revenue in stores. Did you know that? I used to work in a computer store. Cables cost us like a couple bucks, but we'd sell them for 20 dollars. It's a scam. I recently purchased an Apple iMac. Unfortunately, my existing older Canon laser all-in-one printer was incompatible with any Mac OS. good cheap printer with one bad flaw
I needed copying and scanning. It does this. I am using it at home and did not need large volume printing. The one bad flaw is that there is no bypass for envelopes. I foolishly assumed that all laser printers had this. To do an envelope, one has to remove all the paper and slide the guides together. Even then I have never been able to make even one envelope print straight. Fortunately, we have a second laser printer in the house with an appropriate bypass for envelopes. If I could choose again, I would definitely not buy this one, but would keep looking and probably pay more.

1. 5 STAR PRINTER BUSTED FOR CRIMINAL INK USAGE
I have owned the last three generations of Canon's top-of-line Photo A.I.O. -- the 990, the 8120 and now the 8220. Each generation has offered at least one new feature that was important enough to me to justify an upgrade. And in terms of features, performance and price, each generation has been best-in-class vs. the competition. Measured only by those standards, they're absolutely 5 star printers.

But I've also noticed an unwelcome feature in each new model: a steady increase in Canon's greed through wasteful ink usage. I mentioned this issue when I updated my review of the 990... it got even worse with the 8120, which I didn't review... and now it has reached near criminal levels with the MG8220. Seriously, there should be a law against this kind of consumer abuse and deception.

I'm talking about ink usage that hits especially hard the home or home business user who only occasionally prints a color document or photo. The culprit is the programmed cleaning...

Installation went smoothly after I figured out that at one point I needed to turn the printer off & back on again. I'm using Windows 7, 64 bit.

PROS (of the features I've tried)
-The Intelligent Touch System provides light-guided direction...only the buttons you need light up; the controls are sensitive to touch & very easy to use.
-Scans slides & film; the color & clarity of the photo I printed from a 32 year old 35mm slide are excellent.
-Several varieties of memory cards are supported.
-Using the Duplex feature saves paper, but printing two or more pages on one side of the paper involves more steps than Pixma 6120 . To print 2-16 pages on one side of your paper, choose 'Properties', then 'Duplex' in 'Quick Setup', click the 'Page Setup' tab to choose your print options, then 'Page Layout' to choose to print up to 16 pages on one side of the paper, you can also choose booklet and there are a couple other choices too.

MG8220 - Like a trophy wife, she's pretty and expensive
I've had this printer for about a week. The first time I printed a color photo on glossy I was speechless. The print looked like it had just come from a photo lab. Setup was easy and mine originally came with the old firmware which was a little disappointing. Had to upgrade to V3.020 via the web site. Not too much trouble but not something I expect to do on a brand new printer.

Ink usage may be a concern. I've printed roughly 10 full 8" X 10" prints and 4 of the 6 tanks are already at the half way mark. At this rate each 8" X 10" print will end up costing $2.00/each. A little pricey in my opinion. But hey, the quality is second to none so you half to determine what's more important to you.

I really like the dual trays. I put regular old letter in the bottom tray and keep envelopes in the rear tray. When needed I'll put the glossy in rear tray for a quick photo print. And yes, this printer is fairly fast once it decides to start printing...

1. OMG This Printer Is Incredible
I Just got this printer from Adorama today (via UPS) and this thing is incredible. Im a professional photographer and this printer prints lab qaulity prints super fast. I made sure I used Photoshop to print some test pictures )4x6 on Canon Photo Plus Semi Gloss and it matched exactly what was on my screen. As a matter of fact the prints look better than whats on my screen...I had to do a double take. I no longer will be using the lab to order prints for my clients (only wedding books), Im printing them all myself. The speed is also amazing. The only thing I dont like thus far is the noise of the print head when the printer starts up and before prints start printing. When the picture prints its pretty quiet though. I will update my review after about a week after i dump a few hundred more prints for my clients.

Fast, sharp looking prints on a variety of papers
Have had this printer for about a week now. Upgraded from a Epson R2400. Reason for upgrading, couldn't keep the epson's printhead from clogging. Wasted more ink trying to keep the printheads clean then I actually used printing pictures. As far as print quality goes between the two is basically a toss up. Prints from the canon are more glossy then the epson probably due to the fact the canon uses dye inks while the epson uses pigment. The only thing I don't like about the canon is right out of the box the prints seem to have to much red in them. Playing around in Adobe CS4 I was able to get the prints to my liking. With the easyprint software included with the printer, no matter what setting it seemed all the pictures have a red tint to them. This is one area the epson had an advantage, the easyprint software that came with the epson produced prints spot on. This is the reason I gave the printer a four star instead of five. 1. quick and precise
This printer was recommended for use with square.com printed credit card receipts using an iPad. It works great. Very fast and has a compact footprint.

2. Works great...when it works
I have this set up to use with Square and the APG Cash Drawer on the iPad 3. Setup was super simple and I was up and going in literally minutes. I've been using it for a little over a week now, and I've had about 3 instances where I can't get it to print a receipt. I check to make sure that all of the devices are on the same internet connection, and they were. Sometimes it just lags, because the cash drawer opens and I can click on the "Print Receipt" button, but nothing happens. Then when I print a test receipt from the iPad, the customer receipt that I was trying to print will print out ahead of the test receipt. So it was in there, but for some reason it didn't print out. Other times it just goes offline or something, because it won't open the cash drawer at all, and the option to print a receipt does not even show up on the iPad. I've had to turn it off and turn it back on when this happens, and that solves the problem. I have cable internet that has never given me any...

I bought this product to use with the Square Register POS setup. The way it works is that this printer will connect to your router (you will need a regular network cable for this) and use the multipro cable above to connect from the printer to the cash drawer. Your iPad then connects to your wifi and using Square Register it "discovers" your printer. The multipro cable is how the cash drawer opens automatically.

This printer was a game changer as our production time for large mixed sized documents dropped by 80%. Our old system would balk at printing letter and legal and we had to print them separately and then manually assemble the document package. This system totally automated that process. 2. I like it, but I am not totally happy

I opened a few "used up" cartridges and they were half full (yes!). It's a complete scam, not to mention the electronic waste. If you have additional information on this, feel free to comment. I am looking for answers.

1. It is fast
Just bought this to upgrade from an old HP4100N and my first impression is WOW it's fast.
The setup was a quick easy breeze. Plug it in to the network plug in the power and it's up and running with the IP on the little display so you can see where and that it is connected.
The drivers found it on the network no problem was up and running with it in under 10 min. This is a clear case of you get what you pay for. And did I mention it is FAST.

2. Relatively quiet and fast
We added a 1500 page feeder. It was easy to setup and the unit just sits on top or the additional paper feeder. It is not quiet but also not noisy (unless you happen to be sitting right next to it). First page comes out quickly and print speed is fast, close to our xerox printer rated at about the same speed. Only had it a week so don't know about reliability. We plan on using refurbished high capacity cartridges and the cost per page for toner will be about $0.066 which again compares to the Xerox copier/printer. We got this because the Xerox has not been reliable. Has it's own drivers on the HP web site. Using the 32bit and 64bit Win 7 drivers without a problem.

Works great!
With the high cost of ink, the larger capacity cartridges can do the job for about a penny a page, according to my calculations. This unit is a printing press. Easy to get set up with the drivers, works great....so far, no problems. Bought it to print minimum 5000 pages per month.

I have used Oki printers for many years and have found them to be very solid performers. This printer certainly fits with the rest of them that I have had. Setup is very easy and I have it installed on computers running both XP and Windows 7. The nicest feature that this printer has that my old ones didn't is the ability to print on both sides of the paper automatically. Startup is quicker and print quality is excellent.

I would have given this printer a 5 star rating except for the fact that the toner is much more expensive for it than the older model 4250 that it replaced.

Good output, fast warm up, slightly unfriendly UI and software.
Prints very cleanly and rarely needs to be refilled, compared to inkjets I have used. Warm up time from being completely cool is less than ten seconds. Printer manual says it can be damaged if you select the wrong paper THICKNESS. Makes sense, but still, kinda strange. I have been using this printer on a Mac and the software is less than excellent. It gets the job done, but is a little difficult to use and seems to have a way of hiding features you are looking for. Overall, great value and high quality. Definitely recommended. If you are using Windows, you may find the software to be much better, I have not tried it.

First of all, I am student and am constantly printing off all sorts of stuff for school. I had a color HP inkjet all-in-one that worked well, except for the fact that ink printers smear and the replacement ink is so expensive. I stumbled upon this printer and found a way good deal, so I bought it. When it arrived, I hooked it up to my computer (yes, I have a Mac) and at first had a bit of trouble installing the driver. I finally figured out that the easiest way was to download the driver from the Oki website.

After that, I starting printing like an office supply nerd in Kinkos! It does everything that I need it to. It prints pictures with decent resolution. It prints text wonderfully. Great Printer
This printer is a great printer. The only issue I had was when removing it from the packaging, there were no directions that say what to do. Only picture directions. I'm guessing because of the many different languages they would have to print on there. It comes with a CD-ROM for the manual, yet again, no words on paper in your hand.

All in all, it was an easy printer to set up. This printer is set up on our network so we attached a print server to it with no issues.

1. great home office printer
I bought this to replace an aging yet still functioning HP LaserJet B&W laser printer. So far, I am very happy with the Dell B1265dnf. It responds more quickly than the old printer, and the output quality is just as sharp. Software/driver setup took almost 30 minutes on my Win7 box, but went smoothly. Dell printer manager software allows you to control most settings of the device from the PC instead of having to use the on-device menus. Scanning documents and photos to the PC works well. I haven't needed to fax yet but I assume that will work just fine.

One thing I especially like is that when the unit goes to sleep (after 1 minute of inactivity), its fan turns off and it becomes completely silent.

2. Great Printer
I have had this printer, scanner, copier, fax now for about 3 monthes. Finally a printer that does what it says. I use it for my home based business and personal use. Great copies, does a very good job of printing. The best part I don't need to constantly be filling or changing print cartridges. Toner cartridge said it would do 1500 prints, right now I would say its going to be very close to making it. And the cost of replacing the cartridge saves you big bucks over those little print cartridges of other printers I have had. I would estimate I paid for this printer alone in the savings already.

I have this printer for about a month, I am very impressed with it so far. I still didn't replace cartridges that came with. I was a bit anxious choosing this printer, because there was no user review online yet for XP-850. I found some reviews for XP-800, but would not compare,since this baby is completely new design. It uses different cartridges, and seemed to be more photo inclined. XP850 takes six cartridges: Black, Magenta, Light Magenta, Cyan, Light Cyan and Yellow. The XP-800 uses C-M-Y-K and Photo Black.

I am a hobbyist photographer, and wanted a decent printer for my photos, but didn't want to spend more than $300 for one. So far I was printing my photos online, or at local CVS store. 2. Amazing photo printer
This is the first review that I have done on a product, but I feel I have to comment about this printer. I previously had the HP deskjet 995 printer which lasted 11 years. I heavily used this printer for home office use and printing photos. I also have a HP Scanjet 5490 scanner with ADF. So when my printer went up, I was looking for a replacement printer that would produce great quality photos. If it could scan as well, then it would be an added bonus.

I initially bought the Epson XP-800 and was not very impressed by the photos. But I'm not sure if it was because I was using my leftover HP photo paper. Outstanding
"Upgraded" from an HP unit, which was excellent, but, I wanted "more" for some photography printing along with the everyday things. I'm super pleased on all fronts. The ability to take thicker stock from a rear feed is nice if you need an 8x10 or a cover sheet for a presentation. Colors are excellent. Highly recommended!

1. Overall excellent choice for the SOHO/Workgroup
Not perfect, but I'm very pleased overall. You are paying a premium to have a truly all-in-one device, but the M475dw is a well rounded duplex color laser MFP, and a strong competitor in its class. You do get some very nice features not available in less expensive printers. Build quality is generally very good but some of the internals show signs of a few cut corners.

Pros:
- Extremely simple install. Place it on your table, remove the protective tape and film, and power it on. The printer automatically registers itself on the network and you can download the drivers direct from its web interface - no CDs required.
- Print quality is better than expected. Brochures print in vivid colors and negligable banding. Photos are a bit on the soft side, but better than expected color gradience provides overall impressive results for a laser printer of this class.
- Negligable paper curl (some curl is expected in any laser printer)

2. Printer is Great, Scanner Jams
I run a business that requires me to print both legal and letter sized documents in each print job, so I researched dual tray printers and decided on the HP LaserJet Pro 475dw with the optional second drawer. The printer itself works extremely well. Unfortunately, the page feeder for the scanner is unreliable and jams frequently. It doesn't matter if it's loaded with three sheets of paper or 30, it will start scanning and more often than not jam while feeding pages through the scanner. When scanning multiple pages, it will cancel the scan job when a jam occurs (instead of allowing you to fix the jam and resuming scanning). Also, the scanner frequently feeds pages in askew, so they don't scan straight. I've been using Brother MFC machines for the past eight years and never had as many scanning problems with those machines as I do with this new HP. Working great with Macs / Apple
I have had the printer for 3 weeks now, and not have had any major issues. I use the printer with a iMac (mountain lion), Macbook (lion), iPhone 3, Ipad2 and new Ipad. I have not tested with windows or linux.

Why not 5 stars?
1) many people discount 5 star ratings as fake
2) online documentation states there is an email scan option, but it's not actually present (at least for Mountain Lion)
3) printer reports out of paper when there is still some paper remaining in tray. Maybe this can be calibrated, but I haven't figured out how, yet.

I could not find this model in any of the local office supply stores, but i did test several printers using the copy function. By far, I found the HP printers produced a better image (also tried brother, cannon, and one other brand that i can't recall). 1. Everything I need in a printer
I'm a notary public and print mortgage docs. I have to have a printer that automatically draws letter & legal size. This printer takes up little room, set up fast, and is easy to program for what I need. It also draws less power than my older printer which was on 1 1/2yrs old and quit(another brand). Works just as it should. Paper handling is flawless. Wireless makes everything easy an very convenient. The printer is blazing fast. Make sure to put the printer in toner saver mode though because it uses up toner quickly. I was averaging 2200 pages using the 720 toner and was nearly 7000 pages with the 750 cartridge high yield. Toner saver bumped it up to almost 8000.

Great printer
I have gone through a few printers over the past 5-7 years, trying to find one that could perform as consistently as an old HP4000 that I had for heavy home and home office use. Nothing HP had produced seemed to fit the bill in recent years. This printer is great however. It is fast, quiet, and produces very high quality duplexed images and has a high capacity paper carrying ability. It was easy to wirelessly network with several different devices. 1. One Outstanding Printer
This is the best printer that I've ever owned. Period. Considering how many printers I've gone through, that's saying a lot. Let's go through the various pieces and I'll show you why I like it so much....

Print Quality - It's rather trite, but the number one job of a printer is to print. The print quality of the Artisan 837 is outstanding. Using decent quality paper, the output is sharp and clear. Small point type is very readable and fine lines are clearly defined. Normal single-sided printing is very fast. Two-sided printing is considerably slower, as the printer waits for the ink to dry before printing the second side.

Photo Printing - The Artisan 837 adds two more color cartridges to the standard cyan, magenta, yellow and black mix. By including a light cyan and light magenta cartridge, it's possible to produce prints with subtle shades and smoother color gradation. 2. Best Printer/Copier/Scanner/Fax I've Owned, great with OSX 10.7, 10.8 and Win7
I just received my Epson Artisan 837 (with $3.99 Amazon Prime 1-day shipping) and installed it yesterday. The bottom line is that Epson has a winner, I made the right selection for me, and I highly recommend this product! The printer itself is beautiful, sleek, and not too large for my cabinet-top. The printing, copying, touch panel, optics, firmware, flawless setup process and level of automation were extremely well engineered. I was able to eliminate three other disjointed components plus a separate wireless print-server and all associated cables, power cords, etc with this multiple function component. We never needed a USB cable for anything-wireless worked perfectly, even for a firmware update.

I'd been researching multiple function printers for a few months and had settled on either the newly announced Canon PIXMA MG8220 or the newly announced Epson Artisan 837. Both have excellent features, specs, reviews and capabilities. I wanted to replace my standalone Epson...

Breathtaking Photo Quality But Not a Perfect Experience
The Epson Artisan 837 is advertised as being an extremely fast (the fastest?) printer to produce 4 x 6 prints. It's also a regular printer, a fax machine, a copy machine, a printer to DVD's and CD's, a scanner and perhaps it washes the dishes as well. This review concentrates on regular printing, setup and photographic printing. I didn't test faxing and the other features seemed to work as well as any of the other all in one printers on the market.

The setup instructions are either wrong or at least I got them wrong. I wanted to set this machine up WiFi only. The instructions said to use a temporary USB cable for setup and I'd be prompted to remove the cable after setup. When I started setup, I was confronted by several choices for connections: wireless, USB, LAN - what I'd expect. I chose USB per the instructions. However, when I got to the end of the setup, the USB worked fine but I wasn't prompted to do anything. I spent a good deal of time wondering how to get the WiFi...
