1. Great wireless scanner/printer, drinks ink
This is my 3rd Canon MFP. While I was contemplating other brands (because these things drink ink like crazy & I only get about 2 years out of them), I still am glad I went with another Canon.

Here's why:
Wireless Scanning AT THE MACHINE
- Unlike the Epson, HP, and others, this machine will actually scan over wireless to the computer of your choice by pressing the Scan button on the machine (at the machine you're not restricted to just a USB connected device--Love it!)
- You push the button, choose the type of scan (PDF, Image), and then you have the choice of choosing which network connected computer to scan to.
- I have an iMac (with OS X AND Win7 on it via VM Ware), a MacBook Pro, an Acer Laptop, a Dell XPS, and a clone PC
- If the computers are on and connected to my network, they all show up in a list to choose from
- You choose the computer, then press SCAN and it starts to scan
- I tried it on all my computers & platforms & it worked...

2. Best Printer
Pros:
1. Autodocument feeder for scanning, copying, and faxing( single and double sided ). I love this! I no more need to scan pages by hand. It saves so much labors.
2. Individual color. Nothing is wasted.
3. Very good generic ink replacements. NO need to buy OEM. Generic ink manufacture, for example, Sophia Global, here at Amazon, sells generic inks that do a great job at a fraction of cost of Canon OEM inks.

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, good reviews already proving the quality of this product, like this :
1. Excellent Laser Printer
I purchased this printer about 2 weeks ago and am very satisfied with it. It replaced a Lexmark E260DN. The Brother is noticeably quieter, slightly faster, can print from IOS devices (eg. iPad) and has much lower toner costs. A few years ago I also had a Brother HL-5250DN laser printer. It was a great printer, BUT after I upgraded to Windows 7 it would change its IP address when the computer was re-booted. To say the least that was annoying and I could not find a fix. Of course that is only a problem if you are using it as a network printer.

The new HL-5470DW has no problems what-so-ever. It is setup as a network printer in my home via Ethernet cable. I set the resolution to 600 DPI and configured for toner saver mode. Even with these settings the print quality is very good. Envelopes print perfectly with no wrinkles.

Toner costs are reasonable. Here on Amazon a Brother TN720 3,000 page toner cartridge is about $60 (2 cents/page) and a Brother 8,000 page TN750...

2. Solved my circuit breaker issues
I've had this printer for about 8 months. In that time, I've printed out 1,100 pages, which used about half of the toner (the printer diagnostics tell me this).

I wanted a printer that produced a great image, is fast, supports duplex, supports wireless networking without extra drivers/software, and lets me print from my iPhone or iPad via Airplay. This printer does all of this in spectacular fashion.

The one shortfall is the circuit breaker issue, which others have described. At my old place, the lights would flicker when I powered the printer on or woke it from sleep. But then I moved to a new location, and I found it tripped my circuits every time I turned it on.

However, after contacting Brother's technical support via email, I got a response (in less than an hour, and after 9:00pm!) pointing me to a support article which indicated that a firmware update might fix the issue. I had v1.05 firmware, and the latest at the time of this writing is...

Good Printer
Just got this printer delivered and set up today. Works very well. No problem setting up (with Ethernet connection). Printed lettering is of very high quality, fine detailing. Haven't tried any graphics yet. Fast printer, not too noisy, silent when "asleep". Prints envelopes fine, just have to use MP Tray and open printer's back cover for a straight through printing path. Cannot feed more than three envelopes at a time though. Various options for different paper types and fuser heats if needed. So far I'm very satisfied. Will post again if my opinion changes with use.

New comment (September 9, 2012): Having now used this printer for a few weeks, I'm persuaded it is a very good printer and would buy it again. Note that this printer seems to draw a lot of power for an instant when just starting to print. My lights dim a bit for a moment - not a big problem for me but could be for someone with less robust electrical circuitry.

2. Great LIttle Printer
We can't get this printer in the UK yet so I had to purchase from the US but apart from a brief stay in customs it all arrived fine. The single reason for purchasing the printer is that it can print directly from an iPad over WiFi without needing the need for a router and it does that just great and I'm very happy with the print quality. There are a couple of points to be aware, it uses coloured film to produce the photo and it does it a layer at a time printing CMYK so the paper is passed back and forth through the printer 4 times laying down each colour. This means it is a little slow printing but the resulting photo is totally dry and ready to handle as soon as it is finished and the film cartridges are easy to handle and as the printer is portable means there will be no spills and leaks as it gets thrown around. The cartridges do have a fixed number of prints they can produce and the one that comes with the printer is only capable of 5 so make sure you order more cartridges and...

Great little printer!!
After reading almost all the reviews on Amazon to buy a new photo printer, I decided on The Selphy. My mom also has it and I liked the quality of the prints. I have had 2 photo printers, a HP Photosmart (LOVED IT!!) and a Kodak all in one (HATE IT!!) All I wanted was a photo printer! Not a fax, copier, scanner, printer. Who would have thought that would be so difficult? The Photosmart was the best printer for quality. The Kodak, a HUGE let down. Lines through my photos, really? But this Selphy was very easy to install and super easy to use! I just printed the 5 it comes with, so I haven't used it much, but I can't believe the quality of pictures! They are beautiful! I do a lot of scrapbooking and can't wait to do my next album! I printed day, night, people, and places. ALL turned out great!! I would just like to say, if you need a good little printer for 4 x 6 or smaller prints, this is your machine! I am so excited to print more! Do get the color ink/ paper set when you order the...

1. Sweetness!
I purchased a Brother HL-1470N back in 2002. It was an excellent monochrome network laser printer that worked well with my Mac computer. I used it extensively. I went thru 3 toner cartridges and 1 drum over the course of the past decade. A few issues came up that I needed assistance on, and Brother support was always helpful. That old printer recently indicated that the toner was empty, that the drum needed replaced again, then it stopped communicating on my network. I decided it was finally time to replace it. Having 3 iPhones and an iPad in our family, an AirPrint capable printer was a must. I checked Apple's AirPrint support document (Last Modified on July 31, 2012), and was sad that I didn't find any Brother laser printers listed. I have a networked color inkjet printer already...but I detest spending $$$ on ink so often. I simply needed another workhorse B&W printer that is dependable...one that would help to keep cost-per-page down. I began the laborious task of...

2. Fantastic printer for the price with AirPrint capabilities
I purchased this printer after years of frustration with the typical HP ink-jet woes, such as slow speed, infuriating network reliability, short half-life of ink cartridges, and poor printing reliability, especially with document feeding. After hours of research with the emphasis that my new printer needed to have the advantages of a laser printer (high-speed, high-yield, long-term reliability) paired with the ability to natively print with wireless clients, such as AirPrint on iOS devices, I happened upon this fairly recent release from Brother. All of the early reviews I have read have been very positive, and I can say that my experience over the past month has also been overwhelmingly positive.

Set-up was a breeze, followed the well-written instructions, and after plugging via ethernet into my network, I was immediately able to print from my iPhone, iPad, and Mac, as compared to previously using software to allow AirPrint via iOS on the HP inkjet which required the main...

Two things I wanted to share about the printer:

1) It doesn't come with a cable. So you'll probably want to also purchase a type a male to type b male usb cable.

2) It works fine on linux. You need to download the drivers. Amazon is eating my links, but they are available on the Brother website as debs and rpms.

1. Best Duplex Printer Ever
I have owned many different laser printers from HP, Dell, Lexmark, Brother and Samsung. This printer beats them all for three reasons:

1. Quick. When you hit print, the first page is out of the printer in less than 7 seconds. That is fast!

2. Quiet. You will hear the printer while it is printing, but when it is finished or in standby mode, it is quiet. If not silent. It sits right next to me and I don't notice it.

3. Small and good looking. When compared to older laser printers, this one is a model of good design. It sits compactly in the corner out of the way, but ready to serve at the touch of Ctrl P or the printer button.

4. Duplex perfection. First of all, watching this printer spit out a piece of paper and then inhale it to print the other side is really really neat. It is just plain fun to watch. Secondly, both sides come out printed perfectly.

5. Network Functionality. The printer was found without problem...

2. Speedy Printer. Expensive Toner
I previously owned a LaserJet 6L which was a reliable printer in its day. Since then, I've purchased several color printers from other manufacturers. I went back to HP for their reliability.

This printer quickly prints documents, especially with the built-in duplexer. I can send a print job to it and the first page (one sided) is coming out of the printer in two seconds.

The down side is the cost of toner. Normally, I have the print density set at 2 out of 5, which is on the light side. Using Econo mode does save toner, but the text is more difficult to read in low light conditions, so I rarely use that mode.

The sample toner (allegedly 1000 pages) included with the printer printed less than 400 pages before white streaks in the text began appearing. After installing a new cartridge (78A) just 4 days ago and printing 760 pages, the printer is reporting that 30% (or 300 pages) is left. At over $83 per cartridge, including tax, that comes out to 8 cents...

FAST printer, duplex, but no USB cable? Really?
I've owned two HP LaserJet printers over the last 22 years. A LaserJet IIP and a LaserJet 5L. Bought the IIP in 1989, and it was great. When the 5L came out in 1995, I chose to upgrade. That 5L lasted until 2 days ago -- a bit more than 15 years! I figure 15+ years out of any piece of computing equipment means I got way more than my money's worth, thus I chose to purchase another HP LaserJet.

The good stuff:
This new LaserJet P1606dn Pro printer is so amazingly FAST! I've been used to 4 pages-per-minute (PPM) for so long, that this printer's 26-PPM speed just blows me away! And the fact that it's got a built-in duplexer (prints on both sides automatically, if you tell it to) is just icing on the cake -- no more printing every other page, then flipping the stack of paper and re-feeding it through to get the back sides of the pages. Fantastic! (I printed a 12-page document with duplex-printing enabled, and it did the job in about 35 seconds from start to finish...

1. Canon 7120 printer - very impressive indeed - revised
I had just returned an HP8600 because it wouldn't connect with my network. After two hours on three different calls with HP, I gave up.

I've owned a Canon 9000 printer for about four years and even though I always buy HP printers for everyday printing, or had in the past, I figured I'd try this new Canon 7120, so I ordered one from Amazon.

Regarding the installation: Just about as easy as could be. I loved that only the information you need is what appears on the display. The extra 1/2 inch on the display (compared to the HP) really made a difference when I touched it. What I didn't realize was that Canon includes two trays, one for letter size paper and one for 4x6 or 5x7 paper. The tray for the smaller sized paper is hidden just above the bottom tray (which is also hidden).

Regarding the printing: It comes with a CD for Windows but not for Mac. It did give me the location for downloading software which I immediately did. Again, no problem. After...

2. Better than expected
Had a Canon 4600 5 cartridge photo printer that printed beautiful photos exactly matching what I saw on my monitor. Also had a separate scanner that set on edge and was difficult to use. Decided to see if canon had an all-in-one that would take up less space on my desk and be able to scan easier. Checked Amazon as usual and found this wireless printer had just been released by Canon and was being carried by Amazon at a $35 promotion discount under their Prime free priority shipping program. Ordered one, put it on my desk in our bedroom, printed beautiful pictures and crisp email messages from my cell phone in the living room. Has one tray for 5x7 and 4x6 photo papers and another for letter, legal & envelopes. Tried everything. Everything works as well or better than advertised. Quality of photos and text exceptional. This may be due to the additional grey cartridge. Duplex printing quicker than my old printer. Also the printer has a quiet mode that I use. In fact, everything about...

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, good reviews already proving the quality of this product, like this :
1. Greatest Value in Color Laser
This is the 4th color laser I've owned. The first two were Konica-Minolta. They were among the first affordable ones in the market (still expensive) and one of them, Magicolor 2300dl, does a decent job considering the technology of its time. The second and smaller one, Magicolor 2400, died in a couple of year and was slow. The third one is HP 2025, which is much smaller (of course still much bigger than color inkject printers.) and it prints duplex. But it takes an hour to print a full page double-sided color brochure. Even though the color output is vibrant, the speed is miserable. So if I want 10 copies of full color image, I have to let it print over night. I will use these printers until their drum lives end, and will sell or give away instead of spending more money on them.

One main feature I want out of a color laser is duplex printing. I decided to try Brother HL-4150CDN because it was sold for $250 on Amazon.com (surprised to see the price went up to $370...

2. rock solid
I bought this printer 1 week ago. As per one of the other reviewers, this unit has some heft to it. It comes with full cartridges, not starter cartridges. The color and sharpness are excellent. I've been using a monochrome HP 1020 laserjet for the last few years. there's a definite improvement in the sharpness of the text. When the machine comes out of its sleep mode, it is louder than I anticipated, and was even a bit shocked at first. Also, it takes about 15 sec to print its first page. I got this for about $280 through Staples and am pleased with the price paid and the performance of this unit. I expect many years of use, which is strictly in the home setting. Setup was simple. This is networked to my home network though an ethernet cable. I have 1 computer running Window 7 and 2 others running Win XP home. all of them found the printer on the network without any glitches. It was much easier to set up than trying to "share" a non-networked printer. I gave it 4 stars because of the...

so far, so good!
This is a new printer from Brother and I was a little nervous because there were no reviews for it. Bought this printer locally for $299 plus a $50 trade-in, bringing my price to a very reasonable $250 plus tax. First, it is a sizable printer, so you need some room for it. It is also fairly heavy, which hopefully implies a more substantial product. None of the parts, such as the paper tray or manual feed extension, feel flimsy at all. Setup instructions were trivial and I was printing in under 30 minutes, including assigning an IP address.

I used the CD to install the print drivers on two windows 7 machines and they installed successfully with no issues. The printer comes with four starter cartridges and the print quality is very sharp, IMO.

I will provide additional updates as I use this printer more, but after 7 days and 100 pages of printing, I am extremely pleased with this printer!

Update - 1/19/2011. Machine continues to operate well. I...

1. Best all-in-one, great price
This is the copier I've been waiting for. I am a physician in private practice. I have been using copiers for 50+ years. I have been purchasing my own copiers for 43 years. I've used thermal copiers, inkjet copiers, and laser copiers. All have had major drawbacks, ranging through cost of supplies, cost of repairs, poor quality copies, lines, burning...

This copier has all the features you would want in a copier, and they are easily accessible once TFM is mastered. I would not call the controls intuitive, but the design approaches it. Also i scans onto your wireless local network, and it does and receives faxes if you do these.

Small, attractive [as far as these machines go], lightweight. Ink/inner copy mechanisms are replaced as one unit, insuring that copies remain attractive. Price for supplies very competitive. Will print on just about anything. Some of the copies are nicer than the original.

Go ahead, puchase it.

2. VIDEO. Great all-in-one. Awesome value.

1. Awesome printer, cheap, great quality
I've had this printer for a whole 10 hours, and only printed about 5-6 pages so far, but it's awesome! Setup on my Mac was a breeze. Hooked the printer up to the network and immediately got an IP with DHCP. I then attempted to use the standard PCL driver with a standard JetDirect port on my Mac running OSx 10.6.. but don't do this.. it seems that printing a single page will cause the printer to just print a blank page... and then another one.. and then..won't stop :P. Ohwell.. After loading the proper drivers, Mac nicely finds the printer over bonjour and automagically sets it up as a printer and scanner (whoo hoo).

The Ups:
- Fast printing -- From deep sleep to wake up it takes about 20 seconds to get the first page out (pretty darn decent for a printer under 200 bucks)
- Energy saving -- in deep sleep it consumes less than a watt
- Solid drivers/software that doesn't get in the way.. for mac at least (not sure about windows)
- Painless duplex...

2. Can't believe there aren't more reviews for this printer!
As the title suggests, I cannot believe there aren't more reviews for this printer, good or bad.

I've been drinking the HP coolaid for many many years now. I don't print much to be honest with you, but always thought that a color printer was something everybody should have in the home. I've owned about 4 HP multi-function printers over the years, and my last one was the worst in respect to ink. Not only were there 6 cartridges, but even printing in Black yielded a drop in the color inks! Due the infrequent usage of the printer, my inks would also "expire" so that I had to replace them. All this coupled with the fact that when I did buy new ink, most of the time the cartridges (which were small in the first place), only came half full!

OK, so you didn't come here to read about my issues with HP, although I think most people can empathize!

So, in looking for another printer, I looked for the following:

- Scanner

Great printer, Great Deal, a few minor problems
With great sadness, I retired my HP LaserJet 5p after 17 years of great service. It finally died. I had fun taking it apart, but that's another story. I was always happy with that printer, and the service I got from HP when I bought it was terrific. So my first choice was another HP Laser. I had a terrible Brother Laser printer prior to the HP. Plus, the HP never needs a drum replacement (the Brother's drum is slated to last only 12,000 pages.)

However, I had heard recently from multiple sources that in recent years, HP had gone downhill in quality and service. And the reviews I read (and I read hundreds of them) overall gave better scores to Brother Lasers, which usually cost less than HP. So after weeks of research, I bought the DCP-7065 for only $179. The price dropped to $129 3 weeks later - what a great deal! Now it is back to $156. Watch for sales!

1. So I needed to replace my CLP-315 Updates
After about 4 years of service my CLP-315 finally quit. The drum unit needed replaced, and as anyone knows that is a hefty price tag. Initially I was excited about seeing what was new, especially "wireless". After reading reviews and reviews and reviews of printers....I decided not to get any samsung model that came before the SL-C410 and was finally leaning towards an HP. After waiting for months I picked up the quest again and saw that the SL-C410 had come out last month...but no reviews. My previous samsung was a work horse and thought its time to give the new one a shot, besides amazon sticks to its customers.

Pros:
-Read the directions...I know many previous "wireless" printers had issues with people not printing correctly....this one worked first time and seems great.
-Great color and FAS; it processes the full picture quality quickly, quietly and surprisingly without the smell that the previous model had been known to cause
-Space saving, one of...

2. Great Value
This is our first laser printer. I suspect it must be the newer technology LED printer, but have seen no proof of that. We are a low volume print household. We got tired of ink jets and their inefficient use of ink. We have had the printer for over 2 weeks and only printed about a dozen pages. We had 2 day delivery and upon delivery I noticed one edge of the printer driver CD sleeve was bent pretty bad. The exterior of the shipping box showed no damage. The CD appeared ok, but I should have looked at it more carefully. When I put it in the CD drive to load the driver, the CD rattled bad and would not load. A closer inspection showed it was bent/warped. So, I went to the Samsung web site and downloaded the driver. That was the only glitch. I have the printer wired to the router and have printed from multiple computers with no problems. The printer driver has a nice interface and on-screen assistance for showing how to do the manual duplex printing. The black print is not...

Great printer, expensive toner
This printer replaced a xerox color laser we had that was at its end of life. This printer is around 1/3 the size, but prints at the same quality and speed. Its great for printing reports in our office as we use colors to determine different items. We still use our black and white lasers for 90% of printing but for those times you need color you cannot beat the price on this.

I did a bunch of shopping and by far Amazon was the lowest price for this. The only drawback is toner cartridges are pretty expensive. That can be a problem if you are using this to print something like photos (at which point i would suggest getting a less expensive inkjet which you can refill, or outsourcing to print labs).

For the two hundred bucks we spend we are more than happy!

Bargain Canon Lasers imageCLASS

Dynamic laser multifunction copier provides solutions for copying, printing, and scanning
  • Copy and Print at the same speed up to 26 ppm
  • Copies are ready to go when you are in just 8.7 seconds
  • Enjoy easy paper handling with the 250-sheet front loading cassette and 1 -sheet multipurpose tray
  • ID Card Copy converts ID cards and other small two-sided originals into one-sided document

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, good reviews already proving the quality of this product, like this :
1. Great buy, one caveat...
I've only just hooked up this printer, so I can't comment on longevity, etc. I bought it primarily as a replacement for an old Sharp copier that I had, but the Canon is also connected as a backup printer.

As a printer, it is very fast and the print quality seems to be excellent, but as a copier, it has one deficiency: the glass size is A4, which is just slightly larger than letter size. The old copier had a much larger glass area, so it was possible to reduce some oversize documents to fit on letter size. This copier is somewhat crippled in that area.

Amazon has dropped the price on this printer by about $50 in just the last few days, so it's a great value for a home office. It's a good size, is fairly lightweight (at least in comparison with what I had before), and the set-up instructions are the best I've seen. I would not recommend this for a business, as it does not have a document feeder, besides the limited glass size.

2. Great color scan, which surprised me
I didn't know this had a color scan feature, but it does. It prints quickly and copies quickly, too. Very happy with this item. Easy to set up. You have to install the driver before hooking up the printer to the computer, but they give you a lot of warning about that.

Great Printer - Super Value
I just received this printer and although I have only used it for a couple days, I am very impressed. After years of dealing with other brands, a co-worker recommended Canon. This printer did not disappoint.

The included software/driver disc was not Mac compatible. But the packing included an instructional sheet for downloading the drivers from Canon. It was simple and installed without a hitch.

I did have to restart my Mac before it would recognize the printer. However, after the restart the Canon printer was found. It prints super quick, the fastest I have ever had for a small application printer like this.

Also, it prints envelops great thru the multi-purpose tray. Nice clean print quality and it doesn't wrinkle the envelope.

As for the scanning feature, it scans quickly and the images are very clean. The software was easy to use.

Overall, just a great machine. I can't believe how inexpensive it is!

1. MFC-J425W
Printer works as advertised. With the wireless function, not only can you print wirelessly, but when you scan, it automatically detects your computer (if you have more than one, the LCD allows you to choose which one to send it to). Unpackaging and setup are quick and easy.

The CD contains all the software that you need. When you start the setup, be patient. Sometimes it will be installing something in the background but will give you no indications. I know that at one point I went three minutes when it seemed like nothing was going to happen, another install screen popped up.

When completing the "wireless setup" on the printer via USB, the software will try and use your network settings to find what network the printer should connect to. This makes it easy as you don't have to enter your SSID and network key. If it needs you be on another network, it has the option to manually enter it. It also allows for you to set-up a static IP.

The printer allows...

2. It's a Biggie
This is mainly in response to the review that said it took the printer a long time to reset between each page of a scan or copy. I just tried my new printer and it pumps out the copies as fast as it reads them in using the ADF - no delays. I know what he means - the printer is constantly chick chicking away between print jobs and I think the doc says it can do that in the middle of the night (so don't unplug this machine) - all to keep up good print quality, which so far is GREAT. I'm selling my HPs and have this and a DCP-J125 from Brother - all in hopes of reliable printing with ability to use generic cartridges. I was pulling my hair out with HP in that dept and refuse to pay so much for HP cartridges, PERIOD. So this machine so far prints, copies and scans well and I got the fax to work inbound and outbound using our Ooma VOIP system (just have to do *99 before outgoing fax number). Haven't tried wireless yet as we connect our other PCs via the house network which works great...

1. Super fast first page
Never saw anything like it, cold start to printing in about 5 seconds and almost instantaneously afterwards. I also bought the add on media tray and absolutely no problems with the driver interface, hardware connection, etc. in controlling the add on. Even with different sizes of paper the auto paper selection works very well going between manual, first tray (legal or envelope) and letter in the media tray. Well design and a seeming solid printer (only drop the qualifierafter a couple of years of work). The text is clear and solid even under magnification. I would highly recommend.

2. Solid Product !
Having previously owned an HP LaserJet 4 I had high expectations from this printer and it did not disappoint. Using it primarily to print hundreds of pages of tax return documents, it has done its job as expected. It is extremely fast and the print quality is superb. I would strongly recommend to anyone who requires a high quality, medium cost B&W printer.

Satisfied
Previously, we had a color Samsung laser printer which was slow and used up cartridges fast. It also tended to jam a lot. After lots of swearing, we replaced it this year with the HP 401n and have been very satisfied. The HP is very quick, though a little noisy. The quality of the printing is great. I do not regret the purchase and would do it again if I have to.

1. Great cross-platform multi-function
I have a network with both Windows (XP and 7) and Mac (10.5.8) machines on it, and was in need of a new printer. I was looking to replace a trusty IBM InfoPrint 12 which had been in use on the network (via a router with print server) for over 10 years (and only two toner cartridges). I even debated about fixing the InfoPrint, but I was not sure what it would take, and I needed a solution now. At first I was only thinking about a stand-alone laser printer, both in terms of cost and function, but then decided to look into multi-function machines as I also have an ink jet multi-function (usable only by my work machine) that I did not mind removing.

These are the criteria that I had in mind while selecting a product:
* laser print: for crispness and consumables (my ink jet seemed to drink ink, or it dried up)
* duplex: one of the items I did not like about the InfoPrint 12 is the lack of duplex
* compatibility across several OS platforms
*...

2. Attractive & Fast.. That's about it.
I purchased this from OfficeMax not on Amazon.com. In doing so, I spent months doing research trying to replace a really old Brother MFC-420CN which I loved. I wanted a Brother machine as they are durable, reliable and don't wear as much as other machines (Always owned a Brother fax) - Having said that, this machine was a dream come true, it's inexpensive, small footprint and decent workhorse. Unfortunately the CONS outweigh the PROS.

PROS:
Fast printing
Attractive design
Small footprint for duplexer
Fast faxing

CONS:
Very noisy while printing
Flimsy ADF feels as though it will come off
Duplexer sounds like it's in pain (noisy and very slow)
Starter toner cartridge gives you 200 pages @ 5% coverage

Here is a quirk:
If you have this in WIRELESS mode, that is the unit is NOT connected to the router via Ethernet cable, the machine *always* runs, even in sleep mode. The fan will stay on and its noisy. The...

The secret trick to turning off the "Low Toner" message.
I bought one of these a few months ago in November to replace my aging Canon printer, and I liked it so much I just bought another one for my parents and set it all up for them.

What motivated me to write the review was that I just had to replace the very low yield starter cartridge and the low toner warning with the message "Prepare New Toner Cartridge" wouldn't go away despite buying a Brother brand high yield toner cartridge (TN450), and I have found a lot of other people seem to have had the same issue. After scouring the net, I found the trick that isn't anywhere to be found in the documentation.

So let's get this out of the way right now. If you still have the low toner message after replacing the toner with a Brother brand cartridge, here's what you do.

1. Open the front toner compartment door.
2. Message reads "Front cover open."
3. Press the "Clear" button.
4. Message reads "Replace Drum?" and gives you a choice of Yes or...

1. Bought to replace an Epson Printer
I bought the HP 7525 from Costco at a great deal. It is the same as this model, but sells at the warehouse stores. My old Epson printer was still working great but it had no WiFi capability, so I got the HP.

Wow, what a great printer! I downloaded the software and manuals from the HP internet site instead of using the disks, and it was flawless. The WiFi setup could not be easier and I was up and running in less than half an hour. We can now print from our iPhones and iPads seamlessly and the printer even has its own email address where we can email documents from anywhere to be printed out. It was even nice that I was allowed to pick my own printer name for the email (myname@hpeprint.com). I went ahead and bought the bulk ink cartridges from Costco, should last me a few years!

Another nice feature that my Epson did not have is the ability to have both regular paper and 4 by 6 photo paper loaded at the same time.

So far I give this printer a 5...

2. Really like this
I bought this to replace an HP Envy 114 that looked good but just didn't deliver in the functionality department. This printer provides fast, high quality documents and photos. The ink is reasonably priced and the colors come in individual cartridges, so I won't have to throw away a partially used cartridge just because one color is out. With the 7520 you really can fax - without the need to subscribe to a special service. It holds a reasonable amount of paper and it's very easy to adjust the paper tray to print envelopes. This printer may not be as pretty as the Envy, but it's a great, functional, all-in-one printer and that's what I wanted.

I had a slightly older model than this one and was happy enough but had a it few issues that made me unhappy. I figured I'd take a chance on the HP PS7520 and so far, I am thrilled. 1. Nice Printer, Beware Ink Costs
.
Lots to like about this printer. Well designed, loads of features. Keeping it fed is the problem.

If it starts to feel like an expensive drug habit, see "8 ways to lower your ink costs" below.

Or consider the Brother MFCJ425W which cooperates with value-priced 3rd party inks.

- - - Ink Cost: It Adds Up - - -

This little $90 printer may cost you $1000 to $2000 over a 5 year period. With easy $45 installments, Canon hopes you won't do the supply-gouge math.

To get the party started ASAP, Canon ships the printer with cartridges that are 30% and 45% full. (Or 70% and 55% empty if you prefer. See Note 1 for Canon ink details.)

The ink refills (240 and 241 series) include a chip and the actual print heads. This discourages knock-offs. (It also means any print head problem is easily solved with a new cartridge.) You can refill the cartridges with...

2. Great Standard Printer and Excels at Photos!
This is a very nice compact printer, it folds up for easy storage and and does not take up much room on a counter. It is pretty simple and works like a normal printer, it offers a nice scan bed (with the top door being able to raise a little bit to support books and larger items and still have a white background). It has a little LCD screen, and simple menus, it has a slot for SD and Memory Stick Duo cards (mostly Sony products). It can scan and copy from the printer (I normally use the scan function from my computer and not the one on the scanner). It only uses two ink cartridges (which is shocking for a photo printer).

Installation was very simple and I was able to just use the Nearby Printers on my Mac and it was added instantly and ready to go (I guess the Mac already had the drivers for it or they were super small, since it did not take anytime! I was also able to detect the Printer from my iPhone (AirPrint). On my Mac and iPhone have Double Sided printing, and...

Fantastic wireless printer - easiest setup and install ever!
I set this up in our home office. I'm grabbing the install disc and looking for a cable. My girlfriend: "The website said no installation was needed!" Me: It's not that easy. We need the CD. Her:"No, we don't." Darn. She was right. Install the ink, turn it on (after removing about 3 feet of tape used to secure various parts and hatches), let it do it's thing. On my Win 7 desktop, I added a new network printer - boom - there it was (we use a wireless router and hub). Picked it, hit install. A minute later I was printing. From unboxing to print - five minutes. Seriously. Wow.

Plus the print quality is fantastic. I'll put it through it's paces over the next few months - scanning, printing flyers, photos and the like. But so far I am really IMPRESSED!

1. Love this printer but ..........
This is a terrific printer for the price BUT, DO NOT TRY TO USE REMANUFACTURED INK CARTRIDGES or you will find yourself in frustration mode . This printer does not like anything but genuine ink cartridges from CANON and every remanufactured ink I have tried leaves me dead in the water. Other printers have an option to bypass the INK CARTRIDGE NOT RECOGNIZED mode but, this printer simply will not function at all without real ink from CANON. It simply shows the ink levels as 0% and won't allow any more printing. Everything else about this printer rocks so, just remember to use genuine ink cartridges and you will have yourself one terrific printer =)

2. A great printer
Replaced my old HP printer with the Canon MX392 and so far everything runs perfect. As with all printers - time will tell. The price was right and the reviews were good so I say its two thumbs up - I would recommend to family and friends.

1. A Good Alternative if You Need the Duplex Feature
Setup time: minutes
Ease of use: straightforward
Print Quality:
- Cheap paper - good
- Quality paper - very good (nothing beats my old HP1 but it cost $3000)
- Envelopes: worked flawlessly

Cost: If you don't need to duplex, you can find cheaper models that may suit you. Otherwise it's low priced. Came with startup cartridge good for 250 pages. Cost of replacement cartridge: High yield, 2,600 pages, $54 at Amazon. $40 elsewhere.

Portability: The weight is no problem but it's too bulky to be considered portable. It's substantially bigger than my photo printer but smaller and lighter than any of my other laser printers.

Out-of-Toner Problem - this printer, like the HL-2140, will indicate that it's out of toner after a designated number of pages have printed, even though it may still have hundreds of pages of reasonable print quality remaining. To overcome this limitation and get it to keep printing, tape over the sensors (do...

2. This may be a good product if and when you get it to work.
We weren't so lucky. This printer did not work out of the box. In our business, we have four older Brother printers and several competent IT people. Not only that, we read directions so we know we assembled and connected everything correctly. The connected printer did a great job of feeding blank pages but printed nothing. After trying the unit on multiple computers we called Brother support. Short version - they told us we were stupid and accused us of lying. They made us send them the toner cartridge that came with the printer and insisted that we buy a new cartridge. The new cartridge didn't work either - no surprise there. They made us send them the new cartridge so they could confirm that we had not purchased off brand. They did send a free cartridge to replace it with the assurance that once we installed it and sent them a test page, it would prove that we had actually printed thousands of pages and used up the toner. Sadly, there is no test page because the third cartridge...

Great! (+ a note for Mac users)
The printer is great! Duplex is awesome! It also holds a lot of paper, prints in very high resolution, and prints very quickly.

Also, keep in mind that this printer is USB only, and not network. If you want it to be on a network, there are adapters you can buy which will accept the USB cable and connect it to a network hub, bringing it into your home network. The one I'm using is an old little box called Airlink. I'm sure there are many more out on the market nowadays.

For Mac Users:
The driver for this printer is already installed on your Mac. Just plug the printer in and go into printer settings -> options -> driver, then from the menu select the Brother HL-2240D series CUP driver. Also, it was confusing for me to first figure out how to print duplex. When you File->Print from something such as Word, go into the drop down menu and select Layout. Then you can enable two-sided printing.

1. Tiny Toner Toaster
I've now been using the LBP-6000 for a few weeks and I am very satisfied. My first laser printer was a third-hand HP LaserJet (notice the absence of any numbers or letters tacked to the end - I mean the very first LaserJet ever) which weighed as much as a kitchen stove, wasn't much smaller, and required a team of retired HP engineers to keep it running. And it still cost me three figures.

Well, we've arrived here in 2013 and I've purchased a printer that is superior in every respect to the old LaserJet, and equal at least to the past two or three other desktop LaserJets I've owned more recently. And this time it cost me well under three figures. Wow.

The very best features of the LBP-6000 are its value and its size. The LBP-6000 is currently the cheapest laser printer made by a company you've actually heard of. And, it's tiny. Though bigger than a toaster, it isn't much bigger than two toasters set side-by-side.

Print quality is just as good as the...

2. Excellent value, fast, easy to set up, great quality
Great little printer, actually take it with me on assignments. Cost per print low, if you don't buy original cartridges. These are too expensive. I bought a couple of cartridges also on Amazon for less than $25 (this is for the two!!). Had some trouble at first, just have to make sure you load them correctly, and the plastic cover opens.

This Fax Machines give to us some advantages, good reviews already proving the quality of this product, like this :
1. Should be called a SCAMMER, not a scanner
I really find this unethical. The Canon toner cartridges that you are supposed to buy with this work with the printer so that when they are (supposedly) low on ink, the printer starts blinking an error message. It lets you use it for a few dozen more print jobs. Then, despite the fact that there is NO sign of lack of ink, and the fact that FAXING DOESN'T REQUIRE INK, the printer stops working and so does the fax function. I struggled for days to send a very important professional fax. I finally gave up and tried the one thing I hadn't done - change the toner cartridge - and now the fax function suddenly works. This is so obviously a ploy to make you have to pay to buy their ink before it runs out. I am really annoyed with them. In general it's an okay machine, although I have had one other annoying problem with it (first printouts often have an error message and you have to try again). But this part galls me.

2. Could have a better interface.
The hardware side of this device is exceptional. It prints quickly, goes to sleep quickly, and is completely silent when asleep. The print is crisp and clear, the scans excellent. The paper feeder is smooth and hasn't jammed yet.

Printing is flawless with both, Windows and Mac PCs (you have to download the Mac software from the Canon website, no biggie).

The painful part, and the reason why I gave it 3 stars, is that the firmware is cumbersome for scanning. I should be able to go up to the machine, select the PC to which i want the scan to go (assume for a moment that they are all on the same, secure subnet and that I have allowed access to the PC storage) and have the scan go there. Alternatively, start the whole process from the PC and then just put the papers to be scanned in the scanner, hit a button linking the PC's scan request to the action, and done.

No, instead you have to go back and forth between the machine you want the scan to end up on,...

Works OK, but definite areas for improvement
My old Dell multi-function printer gave up the ghost, and I chose this model to replace it. The primary attractions were the low price (at least until you have to buy toner), and the feature set. I don't use this printer a whole lot, and have even less use for the scanner and fax. I probably print 10 pages a week, send a dozen faxes a year, and scan the very occasional document. In short, just above the level where it makes sense to rely on the local copy shop.

=== The Good Stuff ===

* The installation was fairly simple and foolproof. It connected to my network (wired) with a minimum of fuss, and no problems loading any of the drivers onto a couple Windows7 or XP computers. It got an IP address from my router with no problems, but did not seem to report a description (name) back to the router. The acid test: The UPS guy dropped it off at 3:30, and at 4:15 the first test page came out. And half of that time was wrestling with the styrofoam packing and trying to...

1. Meets its promise
WHY I BOUGHT IT: I've had this printer for only two days but here are my initial reactions: I can't compare this machine with other 3-in-1's. I come from having three separate units to handle print, fax, and scan, so the 3-in-1 (four with copy) is a pleasure both for functionality and space saving. I've been a pretty loyal HP user, but I switched to this Brother this time because of the comparatively high reader scores on Amazon, because Consumer Reports gave it good grades, because ink costs are relatively low compared to many others especially inkjets, because I don't expect to give it heavy use and the laser toner will not dry up over time. For color and photos I still retain my old excellent HP photo printer, or I can head to the Copymat store, so I didn't see the need for color on this one.

SETUP: Setup on the home network was fairly easy. Wired hookup to the main computer was basically plug and play, but getting the networked computer to recognize the new printer...

2. Monochrome Blues
The field of monochrome all-in-one AIO laser printers lags behind the more ubiquitous inkjet AIO units. I needed an economical solution for scanning and printing documents. It didnt' make sen$e to keep buying expensive ink replacements from the inkjet printer. I settled on the Brother MFC-7360N. The unit is somewhat noisy when using ADF (auto doc feeder) and acceptable when printing. Construction is plasticy but so are most printers these days.

Some other drawbacks:
- Cannot change the default directory where images are stored on your computer
- Takes about 30-min to install the drivers & sw on one computer. sooooo slowwwww
- The little display window is hard to read even at its highest contrast setting! Wow, bizarre.
- M-F (no weekend) customer support

The printer is acceptable and not too expensive. The software for Mac is quite full-featured but not robust. UI is a weak point. I learned to workaround its quirkiness. The printer is great if...

Fast, good capacity, but an energy hog and very noisy
Small footprint, well integrated Ethernet access, large paper storage space, inexpensive (compared to HP) toner, and a document feeder, all at a very low price. In my past experience with Brother printers and fax machines they are extremely reliable and easy to setup and that is why I chose to go with a Brother. With a infrequently used copier the inkjet versions will clog and as the ink dries out in the print heads and they are a lot slower and in the long run a lot more expensive with the cost of consumables.

Setup was fast and easy and the Nuance scanner software is great and an improvement over that provided with older models from Brother and the software from HP which is so bloated that it often fails to even install properly.

Nice feature is the ability to register a PC by name when installing the software. Then when scanning a document you can select the destination computer from the Brother and push the scan to the desired PC. Very easy and very slick...

1. This printer is a workhorse!
I have one of these that now has over 20,000 pages printed. It keeps going and going and going!

I use it to print black and white (of course) documents, sometimes hundreds of pages at a time. I just printed a 97 page document on legal paper that was printed in less than 4 minutes.

No, it's not wireless (someone gave it a 1 star review because of reading comprehension), BTW if you do any volume printing you don't want the printer to be in the next room, you need to monitor it so the papers don't pile up too high.

I have this sitting next to my inkjet all in one, which is color and wireless, so I have all the bases covered. I find myself printing with the Brother over 90% of the time. Who needs color for most stuff? Plus, the toner never dries up!

Buy it! Get generic toner and don't look back!

2. Perfect budget laser printer
This is my second Brother HL2230 that I buying for our office. I bought the first one a couple of months ago. We needed another printer and I went with the one I already know will do the job. We mostly use it to print shipping labels and it definitely does the job well. No issues with the printer itself what so ever. We have printed a few thousand labels so far. The only complain is that the toner is relatively expensive, but thats how they get you. It is the same with most printer manufacturers. Luckily you can buy after market toner or simply buy toner powder and refill cartridges yourself.

Highly recommended. I dont think there is any other product in the market that will beat this unit by price and quality.

Nice choice if you don't print envelopes
I was seeking an inexpensive monochrome laser printer for some relatively light non-profit organization printing. At home I own a similar but more expensive Brother unit. After reviewing many specs and noting the fair price this one (model 2230) looked like a good choice.
I am very satisfied with the printing from the tray and the options such as the ability to save toner when this mode is set. It is fast (24 ppm claimed) and in normal printing from the tray reliable.

It is however just AWFUL if you want to print envelopes (e.g., using Microsoft Word as the program). I have only tried in on regular #10 business envelopes. In this case at best they come out wrinkled and worse case the error light comes on and it won't print even if there is no jam. I have to power down, wait for it to "clear" itself, and try again.

So if you just want to print 8

1. Toner Reset Instructions Now Included, Printer is finally decent!
First, this printer is not for people who will be printing tons. If you are printing anywhere near 1000 pages a week, you might want to look at a printer that holds larger toner. If you just print a moderate amount, and want an all in one, this is for you. Great for a home office or very small business. Ok...

At last, what we have been waiting for, it's rather simple...
** TO RESET TONER **
This will make your printer believe it has a brand new toner. Once it says toner low, you can reset it and just print until it runs dry, instead of replacing the toner when you still have 500 prints left.

1) Get to the home screen, if you are stuck at the "Toner Low" or "Replace Toner" message, just press the red X
2) Press the FAX button on the touch screen. This is ONLY to light up the numbers so you can....
3) LOCATE and only locate, don't press, the * (asterisk) button. You know where it is now, somewhere to the right of the Red X button
4)...

2. I love Brother Products especially this new wireless printer
I needed an all in one printer that was efficient and sharp, The scanner and copier are easy to use from my iMac.

1. Perfect for the Apple family...high ink cost
I've had an iPad and an iPhone for several years now. One of the biggest complaints was that I could never print anything off (tickets, emails, documents, etc.). When Apple's AirPrint feature was first released there was only a handful of printers that worked with it and reviews were mixed.

I've been utilizing the MG4220 printer for the past year and it's been great, however it's a single sheet scanner. As the home business evolved, the need for an automatic document feeder presented itself so I was happy that Canon made this adjustment in the MX522. Setup was straight forward and getting it on the Wireless Network was simple as you use the LCD display on the printer to input your SSID and security settings (including password). WPA is also supported.

Printing from iPhone/iPad:
Once you have the printer on the same wireless network as your "i"-product, I was amazed that the iphone and iPad both recognized the printer with no installation required...

2. Canon Has Done Better
This is a very decent printer/copier/scanner. But virtually every Cannon Printer I've owned (Pixma 4000, 4200, 5320) is better.

* The best thing about the printer is the AirPrint function. So you can print with an Ipad or Iphone directly.

* But I find the printer to be slow. It is much slower that the 5320 when printing photos.

* The copier is functional...but again fairly slow. It has an automatic sheet feeder which is very nice.

* Unlike many recent Canon Printers which have separate color cartridges (Blue, Magenta, Yellow, etc.), the MX522 uses one color cartridge and one black cartridges. That is it...2 cartridges total.

* As far as photo quality, I found it comparable to my 5320 which is excellent...no better and no worse.

* I found the installation to be somewhat confusing. Punching in the numbers, letters, symbols for the wifi connection could be a little clearer.

* The scanning function...

1. Great Printer
I've owned this printer for about 2 months and have printed about 5000 pages. I've owned HP laserjets since the days of the Laserjet III. My two previous color lasers were the HP 2600n and CP2025. The M251NW is a worthy successor to my old workhorse 2600n (the CP2025 was a P.O.S.)

Setup was easy. Connecting the printer wirelessly to my MacBookPro was effortless. The touch-screen control panel is more intuitive than any other HP printer I've owned. I am very happy with this printer.

The thing I am most happy about: I print from MS-Word and many of my documents include a color image in halftone as a watermark on every page. The M251NW does a better job of rendering this watermark than any printer I've previously owned.

The 'Toner is low' warning comes up way too early but you can easy bypass it and keep printing. There is still LOTS of toner left after the 'low toner' warning appears.

2. HP getting better but not there yet...
There is so much high-praise reviews of this printer that I thought i should post one to balance it out.

First a comment about HP laser printers in this price range. If you can purchase this printer with a add-on extended warranty, by all means do so. A lot of the times, extended warranties are a ripoff. But in the case of laser printers, they're worth it. This will be my third color laser printer. These puppies have a high wear/tear breakdown quotient.

My previous HP printers was a CP1525nw - which this printer replaces. After only a year and without heavy use (I was on 2nd set of toner cartridge), the printer experienced a paper jam. I called HP tech support and they told me that my only option for me to get a trade-in for a refurbished printer from them (they gave me $50 for the jammed printer). There was no service repair option. Amazing.

So word to the wise on HP printers in this price range: They're not built for heavy use or long term...

Impressive printer
My printer arrived this evening and I had it set up and printing in about 20 minutes (about half of that time was just unpacking it). The first and most important lesson for me is that HP finally has wireless network setup figured out. All the agony of trying to get my earlier HP printers working on my wireless home network are now just a bad memory. I sat the printer down on my kitchen table and powered it up, stuck the installation CD in my laptop and walked thru the steps. About halfway thru you have to physically connect your computer to the printer with a USB cable OR manually enter the network information to allow the printer to connect to your wireless network. I chose the cable option. (In a subsequent step, it tells you when to disconnect the cable). You also have the option to permanently connect to a PC via a USB cable, but the wireless option is far more useful for me. Bottom line: it was just about as easy as getting my smartphone to connect to my wireless network...

1. Great printer, every bit as good (or better) than HP and Epson.
UPDATE: See toner saving tips below under UPDATES. My review follows next.

I have never owned a Brother Printer before. I have always used either HP, Canon, or Epson. To my thinking, printers like those made by Brother and Lexmark have seemed to be less reliable in times past. The past 5 months have proved me wrong. This Brother is an astounding printer at a terrific price.

All features work flawlessly and print quality is outstanding for this price range. Brother have upped their game over the last 4 or 5 years and I was tempted enough (after my HP and Canon both gave up the ghost) to look elsewhere. This Brother Printer (and I still have a Canon Pixma Inkjet for occasional color needs) is just a work horse. Flawless printing in regular and duplex mode. Originally, I just hooked a USB cable to it... but then set it up (pretty easy) to Wireless via it's built in interface. Works great.

Noise: I have seen a few comments about the noise level of...

2. LCD Display and Reasonably Priced Toner
There are two main reasons I chose this Brother printer over the competition. The first is that it was the only wireless laser printer brand I could find that had an LCD display. That was important to me because it allows the printer to be connected directly to a wireless network without having to be temporarily connected to a PC to do the configuration. WIthout a built-in display you would have to connect it via a cable to a computer to do the configuration using the computer's display. I wanted something that was entirely independent of a PC's display, and this one is. Second, Brother seems to be using the old business model that HP and Canon once used, which is to charge more for the printer and supply the toner/ink at a reasonable cost. These days HP and Canon practically give away their printers but their ink and toner is very expensive. I love Canon inkjet printers especially, but their ink cartridges keep getting smaller and higher priced. Next time I buy an inkjet I...

Great Product
I bought this printer to replace an inkjet that just went out. For subcontract work I do I need to print manuals ranging from 10-70 pages which this laser printer is great for, I also wanted to have a copier. I cannot comment on the scanner as I rarely use this feature on any of the multi-function units I have owned.

Pros: Decent price on factory toner compared to my other inkjet. I also liked that brother has multiple models all using the same TN-420/TN-450 toners so I don't feel like it be hard to get quality factory toner in a year or two.

Network connectivity, I was able to connect to my wireless network however due to prior issues with my linksys E2000 router, none of the computers could access the printer. I have advanced tech skills and still can not get the settings right for wireless networking Vs my old WRT54G and I don't have time to dumb the router to an access point that would resolve the issue. However, the wired connection works great, all...

1. Pros and Cons for this Excellent Entry point for Photo Quality in All-In-One Ink Jet Printers
Canon PIXMA MG5420 Wireless Color Photo Printer with Scanner and Copier

OVERVIEW:
----------

If you don't care about having GRAY or ETHERNET, but want great PHOTO QUALITY in an inexpensive all-in-one style (copier, scanner) ink jet printer, this can be a quality/value sweet spot for you in the Canon PIXMA line giving you a lot of bang for the buck. This is the new replacement for MG5320, only available since December 2012.

If this seems right for you, consider looking at the slightly more upscale Canon MG6320 features before committing as the cost difference isn't that much.

PROS:
------

- A well regarded consumer magazine considers these MG5000/MG6000/MG8000 series printers the best photo quality for all-in-one (copier, scanner) ink jets. This model is the entry point into this line.

- The new ink tanks for the MG5420 (and the new MG6320) now also come in an XL size which can reduce the page cost...

2. Excellent value!
First let me start off by saying I was a die-hard HP printer guy for the better part of 20 years. I had a horrible experience with my last HP and decided to look in to a new multifunction. By chance I happened to see this Canon MG5420 at Best Buy. I loved the design, very low profile if not a little wide but that's not a big deal. It's almost "elegant" looking. As much as a printer can be I suppose anyway. I took a look on Amazon to check pricing and more importantly, reviews. None! Did a search for other reviews and they proved to be very hard to find as this is a new product. I took a chance and ordered it anyway, couldn't be any worse than my HP I was replacing.

Can I describe this in one word? Yup...WOW! This is by far the best printer I've ever owned...and for $110? You've got to be kidding me! My biggest areas of importance were the scanning and obviously the print quality.

Scanning: Fast and great quality. Scanning a 4x6 photo is completed in a very short...

Finally Replacement Ink refills are here.
Now after-market ink refills are available.

I don't want to be redundant and tell you the same things everyone else is saying in their reviews. I want to add something to this review column that has not been addressed in depth yet from a new point of view. This printer quality is a bargain at the $99 I paid for it and this review is about how to keep all your printing costs also at a bargain. Is that not related to you printer purchasing decision?

In ebay I searched "MG5420 ink" There are several refill options to add new ink to your existing cartridge.

In the early 1994 I bought my first canon printer specifically because it had individual ink cartridges so you could replace just the one color you were out of, instead of the multi color cartridge. I did NOT WANT to have to throw away the other color inks that I was not out of just to get a refill on the one color I was out of. In 1994 Canon was the 1st home based ink-jet with individual color...
